حفَّار [مفرد]:
1- صيغة مبالغة من حفَرَ/ حفَرَ عن.
2- مَن صناعته الحَفْر، وغلب على حافر القبور "حفَّار القبور".
3- آلة ميكانيكيّة تُستعمل في الكشف عن البترول وغيره أو لحفر الأنفاق والمجاري المائيّة "حفّار عملاق".
4- (حن) سمك يمتاز بأن له خطًّا ذهبيًا بين عينيه.
